Food Destination Friday: China

This week on Flood Destination Friday, we are heading east to the great country of China! In celebration of Chinese New Year, we are showcasing Pork Soup Dumplings (also known as Xiao Long Bao), Chow Mein and other wonderful street food finds!

Chinese New Year is one of the most important festivals in all of China. Also known as The Spring Festival, Chinese New Year celebrates the end of the lunar calendar, occurring between January 21st and February 20th. The people of China typically cleanse their house thoroughly to rid of ill spirits and make room for “good fortune” and “happiness”. Chinese New Year is celebrated in regions with significant Chinese populations across the world: China, Hong Kong and Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, The Philippines and Chinatowns elsewhere.

Here’s to the Year of the Goat!
